Default Setting up password

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 and I would like to setup the security for it in case I would lose it. I have gone to "Options" and then to "Security Options" and then on to "General Settings". Once I click on that, it has "Password" and either "Enable" or "Disable". The thing that scares me is that no where prior to this point has it asked me to set a password up yet, and I am afraid that if I "enable" it, I will have locked myself out. I am hoping that the first time that you "Enable" the password that it would then prompt you for a password, but that seems a little backwards. I asked the sales people at the store that I bought it at and they were heisatant to enable it too. I just don't want to lock myself out and need some obscure preset password that I don't know about to get back into it.
Thanks for any help!

When you set that value to 'Enable' and then back out of the screen, it will prompt you to set a password (and then have you type it again to verify).

FYI that if you forget your password you're SOL. 10 incorrect password attempts will wipe all data from the OS. So be sure to make regular backups.

Default One questions

Ok, one more question.... When I am at the password prompt and it is asking to "enable" and I do, and then start to back out I get the message "changes made" save/discard/cancel, I take it that I go ahead and hit "Save" and then it will have me input my password. Sorry to be such a wuss on this, but I just have this image of having my phone becoming a paper wieght. Thanks for your patience with the stupid questions.

It won't, it will be ok. If it makes you feel better, you can make a full backup of your deivce, first, but trust me, nothing will happen.

When you click save does it say New password or Enter password?
