Carrier is Verizon Wireless

I have my browser home page set to google.com

However, when I launch an installed shortcut to any other site (mini-apps to local newspapers, ESPN, etc…) I can’t “home” to get back to my home page of google. It currently takes me to the Bing app “terms and conditions” page to download Bing. Also, the “go to” option is gone. So, I can’t get ANYWHERE. Further, Bing is installed. They don't need to keep forcing me there. Further, when this is happening, my option to change my homepage is not functional.

I had this problem before with it taking me to BB App World even though BB App World was already installed. Since then, I upgraded the OS and problem went away for a while. Now it's back.

I find that if I close the browser and re-open it, it goes to my correct home page and the “go to” option is there again.

What gives? Can I fix this? It's annoying. My shortcuts are useless.

If you search for "BING", you will find that there are many, many threads and discussions about this subject.

Verizon and Microsoft signed a big contract in order for BING to be the default search on Verizon BlackBerry devices.

You can't change it.

Download the Google Search App from App World and use that instead.

Yet another reason to stay away from Verizon...
