Question Override mute profile with an exception/custome tone?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry 8330.

I like to keep my phone on mute, except for when calls from certain contacts come in. I have setup a custom profile with the volume set to mute. In the area under the profiles where it says "use active profile except for" I have the specified users added with a custom ringtone. However, it does not work...all calls come in mute if the profile is set to mute. The exceptions do work if the profile is not set to mute.

I see what it's doing, the exceptions only override the ring tone field, not the volume...is there any way to make it do what I want? Is there such thing as a mute ringtone I can use as my default?

Thanks!

You could always use something like audacity to make your own ringtone of just dead air.

Monkeee has a great idea. You could make a 1 second dead air ringtone.
Audacity is free and very easy to use.
Then, set it as the default, and add custom tones to the contacts you want.
This would solve your problem easily.
