Default 8350i -- can't send/receive texts while on phone?

I keep getting a Red Clock thing when I send texts on the phone.... I know that it can be done but it's not working for me? Help Please!

SMS uses the phone, not data. Are you sure you can use voice and SMS simultaneously? I can't verify as i have never tried it. Did it work for you in the past on the 8350i?

If you are 100% certain, then try a battery pull and see if that fixes it.

As Dubdub stated - SMS is transmitted via voice channels. You can't be on the phone and send/receive SMS.

Well, on most networks, you actually can send SMS while on the phone without any problems. I do it all the time on Verizon.

Sprint has been known to have issues with SMS on BlackBerry while the user is on the phone. Not sure if the issue extends to the iDen network that the OP is on, though.
