Hi friends,

I just bought a new unlocked vodafone 8320 and tried to hook it up with our local blackberry provider but it is not registering the data/BIS service on the phone...The sim works fine so I get called and text messsages etc.

Is the data settings still locked?..How to unlock it? Do I have to wipe the phone?

I don't think there is a particular lock for data settings. It's just a phone/sim card lock. But sounds like yours is already unlocked. I'd probably contact your provider to see if they know what's going on.

But I have already taken it to the service provider and that cannot get the data to work...they are the best BB providers in the caribbean....

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account - not an Internet plan, but a specific BlackBerry Data Plan?

Have you verified that it's unlocked?

Could the phone be already registered on another BIS/BES account? ie. is it really new or just new to you?

Go to http : // yourphonecarrier . blackberry . com and register your phone's PIN.
