Hello all! I am new to the forums but so far have not found my exact problem... Two of the Blackberry 8330s I refurbish will not respond to ANY keypress, wether it be the keyboard, trackball, or volume buttons, and etc. I have taken it apart and cleaned off the white keyboard strip, as well as the spacer. I have restored it once, (using JLCommander) and still no luck. The moisture indicator under the LCD/keypad has been tripped, so moisture is probably the cause.

Returning to the store is not an option, so any technical solution would be appreciated!

Sounds like you found the reason. Once an electronic device gets wet and shorts out, there isn't much you can do. File 13 or a nice paperweight perhaps.

The "technical solution" is that it's dead, technically. Water damage is not your friend ....

Thanks for your help, but I fixed it by peeling up the white sticker w/ contact plates and cleaning them. I assume it was jamming up the OS's input.

Yep, that'll do it. It took me a trip to a local unauthorized BB repair shop and $40 to figure that out, but it was far better than buying a new one at $200+. And now I know what to do when the problem happens again.

What exactly did you do with the white strip? I'm confused by that.
