ive got some services that keep popping up and ive decided i want to format the device and reinstall the OS.

what would be a good OS version? i'm also using verizon on the 8330.

how hard is it to make the upgrade and optimize the device? trying to gain speed and battery life. i really only use it for texting, browsing and listening to music nothing else.

Just go with the latest OS version that's available. You'll find it stickied at the top of this 8300 forum. Makes sure you select the OS for your particular model.

The upgrade process isn't difficult. You basically just leave it there while the program does the work. Just follow all the instructions on the sticky, and keep in mind it'll take about 45min or so.

As for optimizing the device, best way is simply not overload it with unnecessary apps. That way you'll Have enough memory to keep things running smoothly.

bing, skype, this nfl app to name some. i went into the service option, deleted them but they come back up.

Sounds like you are talking about download links that are pushed to the device by your carrier. Those are service books. Best thing to do is hide the icons and forget about them.

That's why I asked. These are pushed down by Verizon. So even if you reformat and reload and everything else they will STILL be pushed back down. Follow the suggestion immediately above.

but as far as OS upgrading goes, is the OS5 worth it and how do I download it for a verizon phone? should i consider a hybrid OS?
