| Calendar Synching issues Please Login to Remove! I have a 8330 and am having issues synching it with my outlook.
I have it set to sync Device to Outlook and when I start the synch it will get through the address book, start synching the calendar (it lets me accept the changes) but then different errors will happen each time. Sometimes it will say that the Blackberry Manager has stopped working and shut it down. Sometimes an Intellisync window will pop up and say "unknown error".
When I set it to not synch the calendar it gets through the entire sync.
Also, I have 4 e-mail accounts (3 jobs and 1 personal) on my phone and would like to be able to sync their calendars with 4 account calendars I have on outlook. My hubby (a computer consultant) got 2 of of them to sync to my outlook calendar but 2 of them are not. Is there a way to select which account calendars get synched? | | Offline

| Do you have any other intellisync programs installed to your PC? If so, remove them? Which outlook are you using? What version Desktop Manager?

When sync crashes on a particular data base, the first thought is that the database on the device has been corrupted. But with calendar there are other possibilities. I would set Outlook to display your calendar in row and column spreadsheet format and look for empty rows and oddball characters and such. Delete empty rows and edit oddball characters. If you have extensive calendar notes, create a backup copy of your pst file, then edit out those long notes and try to sync again.
If you still have trouble after cleaning up your calendar in outlook, then use advanced restore in Desktop Manager to delete the calendar database on the device and then re-sync. See if that fixes the problem.

I can't remember and can't look right now. Unless someone comes along who can give you step by step, you'll just have to go through the menu bar and look. At least I hope you can still do it. I know I've done it, though it was probably Outlook XP when I last did it.

squishie, I just noticed your other question in the OP.
Desktop Manager sync's the calendar that is set in options > advanced options > default services as the default CICAL. And the address set for the default CICAL must be the same as the address set for the default CMIME. That is the calendar that will sync with outlook.
Also, and I'm not clear on this myself yet, but lately it seems to make a difference if the default CICAL address is not the default email account in Outlook. I may be wrong, but it might be something for you to experiment with if you get to that point.

| Thanks! Finally - the answer to a new Calendar-Outlook sync problem I'm been having. I've tried most of the other solutions, but an obvious one, rechecking which default calendar was enabled, was one I'd overlooked. Solved the problem. Thanks. | | Offline

| I am trying to sync one of my 4 BB calanders with my outlook calander and it seems to only be going one way, from my outlook to BB. I have gone into the settings and chose to have it sync both ways....any help? It looks as though my desktop manager is pulling the wrong data source. It's taking the first calander, but i need it to take the 4th. i can't find any settings to change this

| Look at options > advanced options > default services. See the settings for Calendar (CICAL) and Messaging (CMIME). First, the address that is set needs to be the same for both. But also, OutLook will sync with the calendar that is set here, and not any of the others. So set the calendar you want sync'd here.
If you sync is really going one way and not two, the problem is your settings in desktop manager sync options. After doing the above, doublecheck desktop manager. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile | | Offline

| That's the device options. Look for an icon on the applications screen that is labeled options or settings or something like that. Or, turn off dial from homescreen and then press the 'O' key. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile | | Offline

| I'm having the same problem: following an update to Desktop Manager, a second "Device" calendar was created. The problem with your solution below is I can't select the "device" calendar on the CICAL/CMIME option - I only have the one email address which I use on my device. So the 300 entries I have floating on the "Device" calendar won't import into Outlook. Any ideas? Thanks Quote:

| Hoya, what I understand you to be saying is you have a calendar that is identified as "Device" as well as the calendar for the email address. Is that right? And all your appointments are in the Device calendar?
Assuming I understand you correctly, then set the device CICAL and CMIME to the email address. Then open calendar, select options from menu, the highlight the 'Device' calendar. Now type the word move. Respond 'yes' to move all appointments to the base system calendar. Then sync with Outlook.
Does that work for you? Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile

| I previously followed other advice in similar thread and deleted CICAL and CMIME to attempt to force new file sync, which didn't work. Will restore from earlier backup and try your fix; thanks. Quote:
