Hey I have the Blackberry Curve 8530 and I have no bars because the area Im in is a Dead Zone :|. I have Virgin Mobile and I might be switching to Verizon which then I will get bars but as for now I could really use bars. I do have a Router so I can get Wifi on it which works great is there any way I could use Wifi to like get signal or send out texts or something? Instead of sending it through the cell phone tower im sending it through the internet. Or maybe something else I can do to get bars? I honestly dont know what to do :\.

Note: For me to be in coverage Id have to go right across the street -.-. Is there anything I can buy to give me like better signal the coverage area is about a football field away actually probably half a football field away.

Text is a phone thing not data so you can't sent a text message. Plus it is not enabled for voice over data.

And keep in mind that when you switch to Verizon, you will have to get another phone as they do not allow non-Verizon phones on their network.

Network Extenders may help a little. I purchased through my carrier for about $200 when I had my Tour. This was for my house.

I don't know if you have Tmobile in your area. I have BB with wifi and connect via router ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, and am able to make phone calls. I can be mistaking but I think Tmobile is the only one who offers this service.
