Unable to sync or restore a backup in DM
I'm a n00b to BBs and I have a BB 8820 and I recently upgraded the device software to v188.8.131.52 and the BB Desktop Manager (DM) is v184.108.40.206 on a Windows XP machine.
After the upgrade I no longer have my contacts' info and wont to restore a backup. I am unable to sync, restore a backup, check device properties, and create a backup; I get a connection or communication error.
The PC sees the BB fine, I can check the link status w/ the BB Device Manager Properties, and the BB is listed as connected in the bottom-left corner of BB DM. I can run Application Loader and delete/install apps fine.
When I run Synchronize I get a "Failed to Connect device..." error.
When I restore a backup I get a "There was a communication error between the device and the DM" error.
When I try to create a backup I get an "Error backing up database(s)" error.
When I go to Help->device properties I get a communication error.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
