I've a BB Curve 8320. I've encountered low mem on device and was advised to wipe handheld for some unwanted apps, as well as those apps that's been deleted incompletely.

Thing is, when I wipe handheld, all data will be lost. then when I sync my Desktop Manager, will it wipe off all my contacts in MS Outlook , or, resync all contacts to my BB again ??

Don't sync, rather use the backup function.
Backup the data, which can be restored after you wipe.

It will not wipe any of your contacts in Outlook. You can simply re-sync and they will populate the handheld.

I've wiped the handheld, and my BB is back to factory default. The Desktop Manager 6 found update OS on my BB, however it was updated to 4.5.0.174 (294). I thought the latest should be 4.5.0.188 as mentioned in the forum .. but how come it prompted me for version 174 only ??

.174 is the latest release from your carrier.
