Default Device connected None - desktop manager

Please Login to Remove!

I have lost the ability to back up with desktop manager. I used to be able to connect, but now all I get is Device Connected None. Not recognizing the phone anymore. Tried different cords, uninstalled and reinstalled desktop manager, etc. Any ideas?

Silly question, I know. But is a battery pull just turning off the phone and taking the battery out for a good ten minutes or so? If so, yep, tried that.

Hard battery pull did not work.
Noticing from reading that when I am in device manager I sould be seeing smartphone listed under universal serial bus controllers and I am not. is that a piece of the puzzle. is there something else i need to install? I only have a Blackberry User Tools disc.

right clicked the "unknown usb device" in Device Manager and then clicked "Update driver" point it to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Reasearch in Motion\ or C:\Windows\system32\drivers\rimusb.sys

it might help
