Default 8350i not letting me update OS...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, 8350i user here. I decided to update my OS today. Downloaded the package and started the install - got past where it wipes my device, and then it pops up with this error message (see attached image). I have deleted the Vendor.xml file, left it in, tried previous OS releases, etc, all with the same result. I even tried attaching my device to different USB ports, with no luck. All my device does now is give me the white screen of death with the "Reload Software: 507" message.

Help!

Also - I'm getting the [A:0x0000000F] error code - as shown in the attached picture in the last post. I read this thread: h++p:\\w w w .blackberryforums . c o m /general-8300-series-discussion-curve/203539-i-need-some-ideas-help-8350i.html (not letting me post it as a link, hence the screwy link) and they are having the same problems. I will try a different computer this evening. If nothing else, I guess I can try taking it to a Sprint store.

I was on OS version 4.6.1 - I downloaded 5.0.0 and tried to install. Stupid me, I didn't do a backup prior. During the install, it gave me the error after it had erased all applications. I bricked it, because all it shows me now is the 507 error message. I used BBSAK to do a factory reset and a wipe, then tried installing 5.0.0, still with no luck. My Blackberry Desktop software finally recognized the device, so I tried to install the OS through that. Still getting the [A:0x0000000F] error code (see attached).

My last backup was 4 months ago - oh well, live and learn. At least I have something to put back on the device (if I can un-brick it).

Thanks, I've already been through that - checked all my my USB power management settings, and I am plugged directly into the back of the CPU.

Right before I get the error message, I took a screen shot (attached).

The progress bar at the bottom of the window went as follows:

Connecting to boot ROM
Uploading RAM image
Erasing applications
Loading system software
Connected to boot ROM
Erasing applications
Connected to boot ROM
Erasing applications
Connected to boot ROM
Erasing applications

And then it gives me the error message...

I did learn that in order to download and install the 5.0 OS you have to have the 6.0 desk top downloader.I was told by Nextel not to download the 807 OS due to glitches and phones locking up,but I did it anyway with no issues at all.
