Angry 16GB Memory Card Max. For 8300 Series

Please Login to Remove!

I have the 8330 and now that the 32GB cards are out, it doesn't seem to matter since v.4.5 can't go beyond 16GB. Heard too many bad reports for any OS above v.4.5 on the 8300 series. Has anyone tried to run 32GB on v.4.5 by chance? If so, did it work (how much was recognized or did it fail all together)?

I believe the upper limit for what SD card you can install is regulated by your OS. If you don't want to go above v4.5, you are stuck at that limit.

A SEARCH or a read of the FAQ would have found this: What type and size Media Card can I use in my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

I'm aware of the OS limitations. I just don't want to go higher than v.4.5 because of all the problems I've read from others who have tried it (especially v.5+). I was just wondering if someone actually tried a 32GB card using v.4.5 thinking it may work with one manufacturer's chip compared to another. Probably not but you never know.

I have heard that the device can read it some times on later version of OS 4.5, but not format it correctly to be used on the device.

find a freind with a 32 gig and try it on yours.
