Running 5.x on my Curve 8530.

I have set an alert for a contact's email address, but the alert is taking priority over the current profile.

For example, I want to hear the alert when the BB is in the NORMAL profile, but when I put the BB into Phone Calls Only (at night, for example), I want the PROFILE's alert rules to take priority.

The details: As a chauffeur, I get emails from the Thruway Authority, telling me when there is an accident. But when I'm SLEEPING, you see, I don't CARE if there is an accident, and I don't want to be woken up (unless someone calls, hence the BB being in PCO mode, yadda yadda yadda).

I've done some pretty extensive searching on the forums, but may not be wording my query correctly.

Either that or I'm some kind of weirdo.

I want all alerts to be slaves to the phone's main profile setting.

Any thoughts (not about the weirdo bit)?? ...and thanks.

Be sure that the volume in the Contact Alert is set to "Active Profile".
