I just got my 8530 back today from getting fixed for the keypad not working. Now I cannot get it to switch from WiFi. I have an unlimited data plan and would like to be able to actually use it, especially as I have an over 5 hour trip in a truck tomorrow.
When I go to browser options, then browser configurations, it will highlight "Hotspot Browser", but a black outline appears around the words, not any other options.
I did a system restore on it when I got home, but I am very limited in my knowledge of anything technical, so don't know what else or how else I can fix the problem.
I also cannot get my BBM to work.
Any suggestions with detailed instructions (lol) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is the exact same device or did they send you back a different device? Check the PIN and ESN.

Did you resend the Service Books after you "did a system restore" (whatever that means)?

I don't know what resend the service books means. What I did was restore the device to the last back up, in the hopes that it would restore the previous data settings.
Yes, they sent me back the same device.

Do you have a BB data plan? You that for email, BBM, the BB Browser and all other RIM related services.

First, Go to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routine Table. Hit Menu and select Register Now.

Next, log onto your BIS site and resend service books.

Finally, do a battery pull.

Or call your carrier and have them troubleshoot and walk you through it.
