Default email account delete on a secondhand set

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8310 and having trouble with the email setup. It is secondhand and I wiped the handset . When I've tried to set up the email via the web it said it is already registere.d. Told O2 this and was told that the previous owner needs to contact them to shut the account down before I can use the email facility. As I've wiped it theres no way I can contact him, so is there a back door method around this.

If the carrier won't help and you can't contact the previous owner, then you are probably out of luck as those are the only ways to do it. O2 might escalte to RIM, but you would most likely need proof of purchase and then they might not do it either.

No back door or work around. BBs are pretty secure, you know.

This is one of the big problems of buying a used BB. Next time read the FAQ article about it.
