Exclamation Tethering turns off my phone - please help!

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 and I've been successfully tethering with VZ Access Manager for about 18 months. Yesterday, I installed a new HP printer. I ran into lots of problems and had to uninstall and reinstall it 3 times before I got it working. Ever since then, when I tether with my Blackberry, my connection lasts for about 3 to 5 minutes, then my phone turns off completely. (My laptop is fine.) I can't imagine how these two things are related, but installing the printer is the only thing unusual I've done and the problem started immediately afterward. (For what it's worth, the printer is an HP Officejet 6500 and I never got the scanner feature working.)

Could these things be related? Is there a setting in Windows 7 start-up that could be causing the tether not to work? I've rebooted multiple times and it doesn't help. I don't know what else to try. Please help!
