Lightbulb Transferring Videos to BlackBerry Curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

I have transferred a few music videos through the Roxio Media Manager and when I play them on the Curve, the picture and audio do not match. I have tried converting them (via Roxio) to all the different options and they still didn't sync. Although at the smallest file size, the audio and video weren't THAT off, but still noticeable.

The music videos that I am adding are .mp4 files and range from 20-50mb (before conversion).

If anyone can give me some tips on how to resolve this issue, that would be great!

Thanks!!

the files i've been transferring are music videos - about 3 minutes long. the original files were 30-50mb, but even when converting them to half their size (around 10mb or so) the picture/audio still didn't match!

Try using a different application to convert the video files... there's a post not far down the list with an obvious title discussing videos on the Curve. There are a few alternative Apps out there that do a better job of syncing, one is free.

Or you could venture into using mencoder from the DOS prompt... it does a great job re-encoding videos.

Use search, it is your friend (or in this case, just scroll down the list and read the previous posts).

just use mass media mode to transfer your videos..takes a shorter time to transfer...don't use media manager or anything, will take you forever!

BB4life, how do you use mass media mode, if you don't mind explaining a bit.

When you attach the Curve to the PC, it pops up a message asking whether to switch to Mass Storage Mode. Just say yes and the Curve then looks like a USB thumb drive to the PC. You can then drag and drop stuff back and forth to the Curve.

I use Roxio Toast..Converts is into a .3gp file. Then when I hook it up to my mac, I open the BB up..and drag and drop the file into video folder...and depending on size of movie..BAM..its in there. I converted my smokin aces movie in a 70meg movie...the quality isnt amazing, but it's a blackberry..and I can fit another 5-10 movies in there with my 2 gig card.

Do you mean connect the curve to the pc NOT via the BB desktop manager??? When I connect my BB without the BB manager, all it does is charge. If I click on the usb icon it does say mass storage, but there is no recognized location it seems to me, so I cannot drag and drop anything to its location.

Go to Options > Media Card > and turn Mass Storage Mode Support "On"

then connect your device to your PC via USB

ok, I have that option set at on (thanks for going through the steps).....it was already on "on"......and for some reason I cannot drag and drop anything though the usb port does realiz that there is something hooked up.

Maybe I'm not understanding something.....lol
