Default Unlocked Cingular 8300 - HTML Browser Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Just unlocked the phone with the guys at gsmphonesource.com. Awesome execution and FAST!!

I have the "old blue" unlimited and data service and I have a problem with the browser. I only see the mMode browser. How do I get the other versions of the web browser that allowed me to view websites with the graphics etc and in full HTML?

Is I am on a BES server I though I was supposed to have a HTMl browser and a BES browser?

If you have an AT&T unlocked phone and you are using it with another provider e.g. Cingular Blue (since it was originally ATTWS) & T-Mob then the HTML Browser dissapears. From some other posts, the T-Mob guys have had luck using the O2 operating system.

I am also on Blue and use Opera Mini as my browser, but I would prefer the BB Browser. You would think that it would be a minor software mod to make it work, but no luck yet. Anybody???
Still deciding whether I want the 8300 or will go back to 8700.

If you're on a BES, and can only use the BlackBerry Browser (through BES) then it's likely that your BES admin has locked down the device to disallow usage of the other browsers. You should probably check with your administrator.

You need a BlackBerry Data Plan in order to have the web browser (other than Opera Mini). Do you have a BB Data Plan?

it seems with the unlocked 8300's the fix is to use the O2 OS..... good luck!
