In your message options go to email settings and you should see it there. I am on BIS 2.3 and I have selected "Yes" in the confirm delivery and confirm read fields yet I never get the "D" or "R" ever. I've contacted my service provider 3 times already but they haven't been much help.

I think it could be because the people you are e-mailing don't have BIS 2.3 yet. I didn't have it until I logged into BIS and used the "resend service books" option.

When Outlook grabs the e-mail from your provider (Yahoo, Gmail etc) it marks it as read, that is noticed by the BB and marks it as read on the BB.

My provider is Rogers , on outlook it set to leave a massg on the server, I don't open the mail on outlook and it still open up my envelope on my Curve without me touching it
Its happen only with Rogers mail, I have other email and they are fine.
Thank you.

Default BIS 2.3 - Yahoo! Mail and Gmail

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) 2.3 launches today : The Boy Genius Report

Added Support for Yahoo! Mail and Gmail

Subscribers using a Yahoo!® Mail account will now have two-way synchronization of deletes to and from the Yahoo! Mail inbox, as well as two-way, virtual real-time synchronization of message status (read/unread). That means that when subscribers delete a message from their Yahoo! mail account, the message is also deleted on their BlackBerry (and vice-versa). And when they read a Yahoo! mail message on their BlackBerry, the message is immediately marked 'read' in their Yahoo! mail account. There's no need to manage messages twice. Also, subscribers using a Gmail® account are no longer required to enable POP (Post Office Protocol) before integrating their Gmail account with their BlackBerry service. And subscribers now experience virtual real-time (instead of poll-based) delivery of Gmail messages.

Thank you.
Your Rogers account is really a Rogers Yahoo! account and carries the same properties as a Yahoo! account. In doing so, your Rogers Yahoo!® Mail account will now have two-way synchronization of deletes to and from the Yahoo!

As far as I know, those options are regarding you and how you read your emails.

Ex. Confirm Read will confirm to someone else that you read the email that they sent you.

Confirm Delivery will confirm to the sender that your email was delivered to your Blackberry account.

Cheers,
Zed

Thanks for the help and i understand what you saying about Rogers and Yahoo but what I don't understand is why my envelope on the BB opens up without me opening it either on the BB or on outlook, lets put it this way,if my out look is closed my envelope on the BB stayed close till i open the mail
Thanks Ben
