Question Chinese Language Support

Please Login to Remove!

I have a few business contacts in my phone book that are in Chinese characters. Does anyone know where I might be able to DL Chinese softwares onto my BB to support these characters? which are now whole bunch ??? after I sync my contacts from outlook. (Not even for input Chinese, maybe just allow them to display I will be happy )

I have not figure out anything since the post. Some of my Asian friends have informed me that BB start selling in Hong Kong and Taiwan, so keep looking... the days should not be too long before someone hack the BB and figure out how to get Chinese symbols on there.

I installed the two Chinese fonts from this wonder gentleman Icey Cake's Fei Hua Blog: Viewing Chinese with T-Mobile's RIM BlackBerry 8100
onto my AT&T Curve. It has worked without any problem - I have had the fonts installed for over a month now. Hope this helps.

Did you install the above OS, and it should support chinese input.

No I did not install the OS, only the 2 alx files from the #5 post. The link you provided above just download the zip file and use the desktop installer???

In order to have Chinese input support, you need to download the operating system.

1 Download and install desktop manager onto you computer
BlackBerry - BlackBerry - Sys Req V4-2 Pack 2

2 Download and install handheld operating system onto you computer, pull downdown menu choose BlackBerry Curve (8300) (TM)https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...4E92D025A75D1F

3 Double click the 2 file you had just download and install onto your computer.

4 GOTO c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader find and delete vendor.xml

5 Connect you blackberry to the computer with the USB cable, start desktop manager and follow the on-screen prompt to upgrade your blackberry.

Hi, CBR900RR

Does this work on other Blackberry model? I just got my BB 8830 with Verizon and would really appreciate if it support Chinese font.

If I mess up during the installation, will I be able to restore the system back?

Thanks,
Cheng

I think it only works on the Curve since it is the whole operating system you will need to install. You can try it... if you "mess it up", you cna always use the desktop manager to re-install everything back on your 8830.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Did you have the OS 4.2.2.222 install, you can check the version from OPTION>ABOUT.
