Default e-mail coming in as txt msg

Please Login to Remove!

Just got my e-mail set up today and see the little icon on the screen and working just fine. (sending & receiving) But also noticed all the e-mail not only coming into my e-mail folder, but also into my txt msg, (but the interesting thing here is the txt msg is not being received in the e-mail folder) so it is kind annoy that I have to read the same e-mail twice and delete it twice. Is there a way to separate the two?

Can someone please help? It's my very first experience with BB device.

My 8703 and 8800 did the same thing, as well as my Curve! In my experience, that's just the way they come through and show on the icons. However, you can set two different sound settings to distinguish between the two when either Text or Emails come through! For instance you can use the spell notification for Text, and Sonar for Email. Should help you realize what you have coming in.

Sean,

I played around with the device a little bit more. What if I just hide the e-mail icon. (I have not tried it yet) Everything will still come through on the txt msg side anyways. But I am afraid to have e-mail piled up in the e-mail folder.

yes it did for me. once i changed it to separate i saw an icon i dont think i saw before called "sms and mms" and then separate icons for my different emails and the emails only go to the email folders and texts into the "sms and mms" folder.

So when you get your emails now, it's not showing up at all in the message folder, and only the email folder? I guess that's a good thing! What ever is easier for you guys! For me it doesn't really matter, like I said I have it set to Sonar! It can be heard from down the block, lol.

I separated my email and sms/mms folder, however, every time I get an email (yahoo), a copy of it goes to my sms folder, so I'm having to delete emails twice! agh! How can I not have a copy of emails go to my sms folder?
