Question Tcp?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked 8300 using on tmo network. When I went under options, advanced options, then looked under TCP, I noticed the following:

APN: WAP.cingular
Username for APN:
[email address]
Password for APN:***********

What happens if I erase all that info or change it to tmo if something has to be there, what would be different?

would the PTT finally disappear, would that web browser AT&T icon finally disappear?

No, none of that will happen. You won't get the web browser or email or data without purchasing a BlackBerry Data Plan.
Those cingular settings will not work on the TMo network. Change the APN to www.voicestream.com and you might be able to get Opera Mini browser to work, maybe.

you need to change it for some third-party apps to be able access data on t-mobile.

it won't change anything on the blackberry itself.

you can remove PTT by grabbing the latest OS and modifying the .alx files. search for threads with step-by-step instructions.

you can try removing all the service books and then reloading the t-mobile ones to see if some of the at&t stuff disappears.

the icon for the browser is theme-dependent. you can install all the vendor themes by modifying .alx files too.

edit: like jsanders said, you'll need a t-mobile blackberry plan.

What should the ussername or password be? I already have the data plan with tmo.
