Default Anyway to get the Media/Music menus to work right?

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my Curve for only 2 days and just added a 2G MicroSD memory chip to it t have room for MP3s and other data.

I have tried loading MP3 music with subdirs (Album names) to the Curve.
I am using the supplied Blackberry software (lastest from their site).
I have tried placing the directories in the Media Card/Blackberry/Music section (Dir) and in Media Card/Blackberry section using Blackberry's Media Manager. But the files only show up in the "All Songs: section. No files show up in the Artists, Albums, or Genres sections. I have made sure that I have completely filled of the MP3 tags. So the information is in each file.

In the All Songs file list only the File name and length (in Mins-Secs) show. (Unknown) shows up on the second line under the file name and time twice. Once on the left side and once on the right side - again this is the second line of the file listing.
Pressing the Menu button and going to Properties I see the following:
/Media Card/Sub-dir name/file name.mp3
Size: in MB
Last Modifed: Time and date I uploaded the file to the Curve.

Anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong or is this just a OS in need of updating?

Thanks

The Albums/Artists/Genre information is obtained from the MP3 file's ID3 tag. Personally, I use iTunes - so I created a Playlist in iTunes. Then I plugged in my BB and mounted the 2gb card as a harddrive. Next I selected all my songs from the iTunes Playlist and dragged them to the Music folder that had been created on the 2gb card (BB creates it when you format the card).

All my songs play perfectly and are sorted as expected.

I am presently having trouble with using folders as well. Some of my albums show just fine. Others just show the folder name and no contents.

I haven't found a way around this and consider it to be a bug in their Curve's media player.

I have not found a way to get the media app to re-read the files on the microSD either. If I format the card and load new music - the old music FOLDER titles continue to appear.

I am unsure whether this is an overall bug with media on the 8300 or a result of using folders within the \music folder.

I suspect that the use of folders within the music folder is what is causing the problem.

A battery pull is the only way I've found to force the media app to reindex the folders.

Default ITunes?

I didn't think you could put ITunes on the 8300. Must have misunderstood the post I read.

Not to go too off topic here but is iTunes still digitally protecting their music? I bought the Linkin Park album from Itunes then i was pissed that Media Manager/Roxio didn't recognize the file format so i couldn't load to the Curve. What's the point buying from iTunes if I can only listen to MY music on my PC or my Ipod?
