Default dim keys when keyboard lighting is on? - 06-11-2007, 01:28 PM

is this the case with all of your 8300s...the keyboard backlighting is on and the middle columns of keys are dimmer compared to the rest...

TYGHVB...

when the lighting is on, makes it look like those keys are dirty

or is this just a case of the paint on those keys

are your 8300 keys all the same look when the keyboard is lighted?

My problem is with the the automatic backlighting technology. I work at night. If I walk outside in the dark my screen and keyboard flash bright for a second or two and then dim back down and stays dim. Maybe I'm not understanding this technology, but I would think the screen and keypad would be brighter in the dark than inside in the light. I just setup my Forums account tonight and I admit I am tired (long day at work) but will someone tell me how I can start my own post/thread. I've looked and looked and can't find where I start a post. Glad I ran across this one dealing with keyboard lighting. I hadn't noticed the dim middle row of keys, but I'll sure look gor it now!

Select the proper forum to post in... i.e. 8300 Discussion. At the top left is a button that says "New Thread."

It's best to search before starting a new thread, though. Also, there may be an existing thread that covers your issue so that's where searching comes in handy too.

And the backlight system dims the screen at night or low light and brightens it during the day or brighter light conditions.
