i bought the curve about a week ago and noticed something about the trackball... on the pearl its trackball is firmly set in place and does not feel loose nor do you have to push that hard for it to really click. however, on my curve the trackball seems loose and I have to push down firmly to make it click. im not sure if its just my unit or if thats the way the curves designed. its really not that big of an issue, just wondering if its just my unit. thank you

Mine is good. It feels just like the 8830 that I had. It's probably yours.

It's not you, alot of the units out there have the loose trackball issue! Has like a slight grind to it, and moving around more then it should (too loose)
Anyway it's not a real big deal as far as how the trackball will work, it'll be just fine with use and what not. Some people have gotten units that are perfect in everyway, and some have not! RIM can't help it, it's a mass produced item. Unit's will get better with more and more being produced! If it bothers you bring it back and try another, if not, just keep it and enjoy everything else that is great about the Curve!!!

this is one of the issues with the new curves.

I added these as well -

1. screen dimmer than pearl's
2. less memory
3. no calendar reminders (bis)

i have this problem too! i tried a floor curve and the trackball was all tight and solid. mine isn't loose, but there is some noticeable play in the ball and its kinda messing me up alittle. its affecting how precise the trac movements are...i think im going to go exchange this one for a new one (this one is 7hrs old) the battery cover is solid on my however, but the rubberish sides are kinda loose.

ok.. issue solved.. went to the store and picked up a new one. rep was very helpful and helped me out with it. so far the neww unit has a much better trackball... only time will tell
