Question Insurance Plans Direct From Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Forgive me, Im used to paying my wireless provider a fee per month for phone insurance. When I inquired at the AT&T store about adding Insurance to my account, they told me that I had to go directly through Blackberry. Can someone supply me with a link to this insurance plan info? Are there different plans? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

WElcome Tag, did you use to be a member of one of the Q sites? Seem to remember the avatar, haha. You can get 3rd party insurance from several companies, personally I use Safeware, since all my other tech stuff is thru them, not bad pricing either.

I think they still do as part of an overall package with your computer as well, or at least that is what my rep said.

I also spoke to safeware last week and they told me they insure the 8800, 8700, the pearl, and other models but they do not insure the curve and do not have any future plans to support it. If someone can recommend a reasonable insurance company (without going through the carrier), it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Ive been searching the web, and Ive found numerous UK sites willing to insure my phone, but none in the US. Im going to contact my Insurance Agent and see if my phone can be covered under my renters insurance. Ill keep diggin and post if I find anything else.

I have found numerous references to Mobile Protech MobileProTech | Protecting Today's Mobile Technology . and the price seems reasonable to my budget. Im going to keep looking though.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. I just spoke to an agent there, (safeware), and was quoted a descent price. He said they will send you out another unit and if not a comparable model.
