Default voicemail sound effect

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the wierd dialing sound effect the curve gives when holding the #1 key down to get voicemail? I find it quite annoying, especially if I'm in a quiet environment and don't want to draw attention with any beeping sounds. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

granted, it is kind of cool, but is there no way to get rid of that sound?
I know I can just manually go into the menu and choose "call voicemail" ,
but it's so much easier using speed dial.

This speed dial sound is found on the 8300 and 8830, both of which have BB v4.2.2.x. It is not on the 8800 I have which is v4.2.1.79. It may be available in a later OS release for AT&T.

The sound itself seems to be Profile controlled. I switched to Quiet, and the speed dial tone was muted.

I just dialed voicemail while using the Quiet profile and it still made that stupid noise.

Even if switching to "quiet" profile did work, It's not exactly convenient to do every time I want to use speed dial. There must be a way to turn off that sound effect without changing anything else. :(

Switching to the "quiet" profile stopped it for me, but I don't really mind it. Although I don't use speed dial very often, which is why it hasn't annoyed me as much as other people here.

What "sound effect" does it produce?

A fast dialing of numbers, like when you hit speed dial on some phones.

So, should I assume there's just no way to get rid of the silly matrix beeping sound everytime I use speed dial?

try playing with the profiles. maybe you can edit the sound option.

On my 8300, if I'm in normal mode it makes the noise. If I'm in vibrate it does not.
