| Accidentally inserted pin into microphone hole Please Login to Remove! I thought the microphone hole at the lower right of the keypad was a reset hole, and the tech support guy didn't know either so I poked it repeatedly. Then I noticed it was a microphone hole and saw a tiny metal grille inside the hole. Does anyone know how sturdy this grille is? I poked it kind of hard, not with all my might, but quite firmly when I didn't feel a tactile response indicating a reset. Crap. | | Offline

| My first question is 'what tech support' guy? At the Verizon store, or where you work?

| The Verizon tech support guy on the phone. I had to reset my phone, and he was helping me. Unfortunately, he didn't know what the hole was for, and I poked it. | | Offline

Be sure to read the manuals and FAQ's. All BB's* are reset either by a batter pull (hard reset), Alt-Right Shift-Del (soft reset) or Alt-Right Shift-Del twice (hard reset).
*Some older models had a reset button under the battery door but I mean old as in like the 6230's (black and white screen) and so on. | | Offline

| i really don't want to sound mean here...but it's kind of suiting to have everyone here now take a "poke" at you...
had i been the one to make this mistake i would have kept it a secret forever...
and in all seriousness, return your unit if you can. it can't be good to have a pin jammed at the microphone. | | Offline
