I just came across a problem with the audio jack on my Curve. When I plug my headphones into it I get sound out of the left channel only. I have 2 Sony headphone extension cords and I plugged those into the audio jack and then my headphones into the cord, and that worked and I got stereo sound. Then I removed the extensions so I could test just my headphones again, and it still didn't play through both channels. Then when I tried to use the extension cords again I get no sound in the right channel like I did using just the headphones. Anyone run into this problem?

I have the same issue using very expensive IEM's. Its the jack port on the phone, not the earphone. If you use the headset that came with the Blackberry it has sections to the post that you insert. Standard stereo headsets only have two...hence I think the problem lies there. I call tech support and they have no idea what to make of it.

I haven't run into that. Dumb question; did you push the headphone jack all the way in? if it is not all the way what you're experiencing will also happen. The reason I ask is you have to put some light pressure to get it in...OK this conversation is turning

Yeah what you're saying makes sense. If I have to use the headphones that came with the phone then it isn't even worth using the media player to me. I am used to using a pair of Ultimate Ears Super.Fi EB's. I can't stand using bad headphones.

And to answer the other question...yes the jack was pushed in all the way. The only way to get it to play through both channels it to pull it out a little. It gives me stereo sound along with an annoying high pitched noise.

my iPod earbuds worked just fine

I checked my IEM's, which are Ultimate Ears custom UE-10's...about the best you can get if anyone is interested...used for on stage performance. In any event, it appears to be a problem with the cord/plug of my IEM's...probably attributable to the crossover circuitry. I tried an assortment of headphones and earphones giving varied results. If I jiggle the plug I can get stereo sound with the UE-10's but it takes a second to recognize the right channel. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with my Bose In the Ear Headphones. But I did just return my blackberry. Let me test this new one. Did by chance voice dial come up sometimes when you plugged them in.

No problems with my shure e2g headphones. Not as nice as some of these UEs, but more then enough for my untrained ears!
