i am trying to get a feel for using the calender on my new BB and when i set an even and select the time and a reminder for 15 mins - nothing happens??

i assume its a 15 min. previous to the start time reminder. i was expecting some message/alert sound something.

i must not be setting up the even correctly, can someone shed some light please?

I was having the exact same problem for the 2 weeks that I have had the phone. Syncing works perfectly, but no reminders on my BB. Then for some unknown reason, all my appointments reminders so far today are working! I made no changes.

Did BlackBerry fix this wirelessly recently? I used to show 0 calendar entries under Options in my calendar, now I show the actual number.

I did a battery out reset today and I now have something other than 0 for my calendar entries. I shall try a sync when I get home and see if anything is different.
