Then you made a mistake when you created the filter. Delete the filter and recreate as described in the other thread. It works. I just tested it myself.

Already follwed that advice as well. I even went so far as to delete the email account in the BIS and re-register it and then redo the filter. Still getting duplicates of messages sent from the BB device. I went to the BIS, chose filters, named the filter, chose to apply the filter to the "From" field, entered my ******@gmail.com address in the "contains" field, chose do not forward messages to device, and saved. The filter is saved and active on my account, but it still gets through. There isn't much of a way to screw this up, so something isn't right. It's a pretty linear process.

Dunno if it helps but in my gmail account, under "Forwarding and POP" options I have "Disable forwarding" ticked.

When I saw the title of this thread I had to look. You guys actually have been much kinder then I anticipated.

Oh yeah, the filter solution works just fine, if it doesn't for you, you didn't set it up correctly.

Well, I listed what I did above so if you see the error, why don't you let me know? I think it's pretty clear that I followed the directions to the T and haven't gotten any results. It's unfortunate that you would have expected anyone to be rude about this question because "it's been asked too much." This is a forum for the exchange of information...obviously, my issue has not been addressed by the advice offered in other threads meaning my problem is still very much valid. And the idea that "it worked for me so you must be doing it wrong" is pretty nave. Just because your Honda hasn't broken down doesn't mean no one else's has. If you don't have anything constructive to add, why not refrain?

That said, what I'm getting back in my inbox after sending a message from the BB is the message I just sent with a checkmark beside it, not an envelope. It also doesn't sound a notification tone like normal emails. Is this what it should be doing with the filter on? I didn't think I should be getting anything back in my inbox, but is that "reply" message just unavoidable?

Haha. Well that 'problem' is much easier to solve. By default, BB shows your sent messages (outbox) in the messages view.

Go to messages, click options, general options, "hide sent messages" = yes

Jason,

Thank you for taking the time to clarify that for me. Being relatively new to the BB world, I hadn't realized this was the case.

Thanks a bunch!
