Is there a way of syncing my curve with Lotus Notes w/o having BES. I only signed up for BIS plan and have all of my personal emails going to BB with no problem, but at work, we use Lotus Notes and I'm not sure how to get this with BB. I talked to one of the CIS guys today and he told me he thinks it can be done but wasn't sure exactly how to tell me to do it. I keep seeing BES plan pop up and am assuming this may be something I need....

I am in sales and am the first one with company to get a BB. Can anyone help?!?

I did a search on this and only came up with what sounds like some calendar issues some have been recently having...

Do you have a desktop?

You could set up a rule to forward your work email to your address

or

you could install the desktop redirector.

Either way you need to leave the desktop on and notes open to have them forwarded.

Have you talked to IT about setting you up a POP3 addy?

I work for a large company and they don't allow personal BB's on BES, so I have mine set up to forward and it works well. As a side note, from playing around with some co-workers I don't want BES because they have far to many rules and restrictions.

That's exactly the information I was needing. My main thing was making sure I could do it w/o BES.

My desktop at work is my laptop that I travel with plugged into base station. We typically turn them off each night before we leave and then of course, turn them off and pull them out when we're out of town. Considering this, I may ask them about the POP3 addy....

At least I feel like I'm heading in the right direction now....

I had that problem at first. Have your IT guy simply push your lotus e-mails to your blackberry.net addy from the surver. Worked for me.

Check this software out, I just installed it yesterday on a friends Lotus Notes system - ver 6.5 of Notes and it works great. The nice part is you don't need to leave a computer running all the time to get your emails forwarded and it has some great filtering too..

With BES, it should synchronize wirelessly and if you do not have BES then you will need the supplied USB data cable to synchronize your calendar and tasks with your client and device.

All I did was in the email rules had any email with "@" forward to my email. Works fine and the company doesn't have any issues with me doing it.

Ya, you have to install the BB desktop software, to sync anything with any type of device you will have to, but if you talk to your IT department, they should check out the BB sync software and ok an install of it. The friken military uses BB, so I'm sure your company can find a way to allow it

I have tried to sync only my calendar, tasks, and contacts with my work Lotus Notes account. I have no problem getting the sync options set. Shortly after start to sync, I get an error message telling me the desktop manager must stop. Has anybody had this message, and what am I doing wrong.

With this option, you still have to have your computer turned on, and Lotus Notes running, correct?
