| Help my VP he is having a problem! Please Login to Remove! His 8300 will not alarm at a event in his calendar no matter what. I have checked profiles and all the other settings and it does nothing what so ever not even on the screen when the event comes up.
This is crazy so I returned his 8300 and they gave me a new one, i did a switch device wizard from his Pearl to restore his new 8300. Come to think of it I did a switch device on his older 8300 from the Pearl.
What setting could the Pearl have that when applied to TWO 8300 Curves, using switch device wizzard, would cause the Curve to not alarm?
Maybe I am missing something but I have even visually compared each screen with my device and see not difference and yet his will not do any alarm at a calendar event | | Offline

| I've had weird issues like that and if you just redo enterprise activation sometimes that fixes whatever could've been wrong. just in the bes set a password and have him enterprise activate wirelessly and see if it clears it up. | | Offline

| How many here did a switch device from their Pearl to their Curve? All working OK? I would assume so.
Tomorrow, I will a wipe device and then a restore from his Pearl to see if that makes a difference | | Offline

| ah BIS... in that case yes do a wipe and then when you do the restore don't click on the restore link in the desktop software, instead click advanced and just select the things needed to restore like messages, calandar, tasks, don't take any of the app options instead set them manually won't take long. That ensure's a clean restore in case an option is corrupted somewhere. | | Offline

I will do a wipe handheld and then a selective restore to just put his messages, calendar, tasks, etc.

I have a VP with 5 field supervisors and 38 field technitions.
The company runs off of Blackberry, we could not do what we do with out it. I do have a person who is going to do a presentation on BES for our staff. We are looking quite closely at BES but BIS has done a great job for us. With more work, scheduling is turning into a nightmare and is approaching what we call OOC or Out of Control! I am hoping BES can help keep everyone on the same track. Used to be we would all meet in the morning and my office manager would give us all our schedules but now things are having to change every hour of the day! This person is surposed to tell us how BES can help.
We shall see!

Thanks very much! I read all this when I first got my 8300 but I used a 8700 for the switch device wizzard and all worked well. It seems the Pearl was the culprit as we used his on both of his Curves!
Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!

We shall see! | Actually the real benefit is not necessarily BES but bringing your team together through Microsoft Exchange. Then your scheduling manager can can assign tasks through Microsoft Exchange that are directly linked to Microsoft Project and have automatic alarms on them and these tasks will report back when complete or missed. This integration is pretty good in Microsoft Exchange.
BES will offer the real-time integration of Micosoft Exchange, including the scheduled project tasks and calendar items, on top of email and notes. | | Offline
