I generally get network/server monitoring alerts to my normal cell phone (razr) so I can distinguish those from regular e-mails on the blackberry. Does the Curve have any way to distinguish messages to the paging system over regular e-mails? (Basically I want to dump my cell phone and only have the BB)

Do you mean SMS/Text messages? You can separate these into a different icon from the email box

If so... then yes. You can easily distinguish between SMS and email messages on the Curve.

Best choice would be to create an exception and a profile to give you a distinctive alert on reception. Both functions are done in the profile program. As long as the sending system uses the same "sender name" for each message, this should work.
