I;m a little unclear as to what this patch resolves, even after reading the page it's hosted on.

Does this issue affect all users or just those with multiple calendars?

Should all users apply the patch?

Thanks. Sorry if this is ignorant. Maybe I am just missing something. :p

Great Find!

If you are running a Curve or 8830 with any of those software versions I would apply the patch.

I installed this on my curve, running the latest OS, 4.2.2.114, and it says calendar patch not required for this version??? Any ideas? Also, is there any way to recover the calendar entries, that do not sync to outlook or get backed up with the backup option in desktop manager??

TIA

OS 4.2.2.222 made my Calendar alerts work where before they didn't I had to delete the CICAL service books then reboot my BlackBerry to get my Calendar alerts working. Would I still need to install this patch or no?

I guess I'm stupid, but I can't figure out how to apply the patch. Can someone post a step by step for a BIS user? (I went to the link but don't see where/how to download the patch.) Thanks

Thanks Sam. I was using the link on the BB page and was getting an error message. Using the actual URL you posted worked. (Yours has a "2" after index.)

Default USB synced curve - 07-05-2007, 03:29 PM

I sync using the usb port. I don't have the data plan. When I followed the link, it didn't work. Do I have to wait until they come out with a usb patch?

Yes, I have calendar issues. When I sync from my computer, it doubles up the appointments and when I enter an appointment in my blackberry, it won't sync over to outlook calendar.

It says USB version not available yet, so you'll have to keep waiting.... or get a data plan and do it OTA.

Default Curve shows App Error 205 after patch installed - 07-05-2007, 10:49 PM

I successfully installed the patch and even confirmed it was in applications.

Shortly thereafter I removed the battery to put in my Micro Sd card and when the Curve booted up it had a white screen with the words " App Error 205 reset". I clicked the trackball and it reset itself but the same screen came up.

I then removed the battery for 30 minutes, reinstalled it and the same screen came up. I am at a loss as to my next move.

Any ideas?

Have you tried removing the SD card? On the blackberry.com support site it says reload the OS for that error.

From similiar experience, if it is your card, plan on doing a simple reformat.

John,

Yes, I removed the SD card. I attempted to reboot and received the same error message. I've used this card since I got the Curve and the fact the crash occured right after I installed the patch leads me to believe the patch is somehow responsible.

I use an iMac and Missing Sync so I have never actually installed the Blackberry Desktop Software. I am assuming you are suggesting I load the cd on a windows machine and reinstall the OS. Am I correct?

Thanks so much for your help. Even though this is my first post, I have been a regular reader of BBF since I bought my first Blackberry(Pearl) last year.

Yeah, if you look up that error on the blackberry.com it says to reload the OS. You'll need a PC for that, though. Download and install the latest version of Desktop manager then download and install the latest OS to the PC, too. Tip: Use the OS from Optus and the instructions in the sticky thread at the top of this forum and you won't need the calendar patch. If you use the AT&T OS you'll need to reload your patch again, as well, and hope it doesn't do the same thing.

Thanks,
For my future reference, when doing an OTA, is it advisable to remove SD cards? I didn't have any trouble with this with the Pearl

I downloaded the patch with my card in and had no issues. Not sure what caused your problem.

Yes, it is very strange. As I said, It said the installation was successful and the patch was listed in applications.

I'll just borrow a friend's Windows machine tomorrow and re-install the OS. I guess this is one time being a Mac user is a liability.

Unhappy Calendar Patch Issue - 07-06-2007, 09:53 AM

I installed the Patch last night and my calendar reminder problem was fixed.
This morning I tried to SYNC my BB, and when it got to the Calendar Sync Portion, my Desktop Manager had an error and I had to shutdown the Desktop Manager thru Task Manager. I tried a few times and same thing keeps happening. This started happening after I installed the Patch. Anyone have any suggestions.

Default Calendar Issue - 07-06-2007, 11:21 AM

Do I have to wipeout everything on my handheld and then do a fresh install?
Do you think there maybe another workaround. Only because I just installed the OS and I downloaded some other APPS on there. AARRGGHH!!

It's my understanding that a wireless push of the patch is not yet possible until the MSI is made available. Am I correct?

You have to make sure you use the Blackberry Browser and not the Media Net browser when using the URL for the OTA patch. This same thing happened to me too.

If your OS is already upgraded, or is not a version suported by the patch, you will get that message. The newer OS's already have the issue corrected.

The following is a list of software versions with patches currently available. Note: Patches are not available for Beta software.
4.2.2.66
4.2.2.67
4.2.2.75
4.2.2.81
4.2.2.85
4.2.2.89
4.2.2.90
