anyone else feel the "build quality" of the OEM Leather Holster for the Curve inferior to the 8700?

It looks pieced together with scraps compared to the OEM leather holster I had for my 8700...

just wondering if i'm the only one :(

I've had no problems with mine, and also had the OEM leather holster for the 8700. I find that the 8300 fits snug inside and doesn't move around and the flap keeps it from falling out. And seems pretty durable in protecting it. Does everything I need. Have you had any specific problems with it?

another thing, i wish the belt clip was the identical one used on both the plastic and leather holsters for the 8700... oh well, lol, if it gets too bad (which i SERIOUSLY doubt) i'll just "modify" my 8700 holster... lol, i'm such a dork when it comes to these damn crackberries

i use an 8800 case for my 8300. fits good, but the flap is starting to show wear.

I also hate the clip. . .it jabs me on my belt in the wrong places. . .I could, of course, lose some weight.

The 8700 clip doesnt seem to be leather, more pleather. 8300 is leather.

This case is my favorite but do not like the belt clip. Like the swivel clip that came on the older RIM holsters.

I wonder why RIM has got to mess with what was working before?

I have found nothing that works better than the OEM 8300 leather holster. I HATE any holster or device that stays on the phone all the time. Like my 8300 naked while in use!

I really like the OEM cases for both the 8800 and 8300...but I tend to agree with the OP that the build quality of the 8300 case just does not seem to be where even the 8800-specific case is. Not that it is a piece of junk, but it doesn't seem to be the same leather grade, and with the center seam on the front...just looks, I dunno...cheaper.

I haven't found one that works as well in the real world though, at least for me. But...I have a Fortte case coming, and we'll see if my loyalty changes.

the only reason i didn't just cut a section off the elastic pieces on the 8700 case is because the trackball... i'm still thinking of things to do...

if you figure out a way to modify the 8700 plastic clip holster to work on the 8300 pm me please ...

unless you were specifically referring to just the belt clip, then trust me, i'll definitely make that a write up... lol, i'm pissed the curve didn't come with any kind of holster, oh well, i've got mine skinned in a black OEM skin, and in the oem leather holster for now... we'll see
