Need help from the experts. My company BB uses the BB Enterprise Server. I'm told by IT group that the advertisement for BB under my signature is unavoidable. I've tried going into the desktop manager as I've seen so many times on this board - however, the "redirection" Icon to look for is not present, as I believe that is not necessary with Enterprise Server connections.

Does anyone know how to remove this line, without that software on the PC.


NOTE: When you go to signature on the BB itself, you don't see the advertisement, only my signature..so you can go that route.

Can you offer better instructions (step-by-step). I don't know what a BIS is? I'm not an IT guy, just a sales guy trying to get this off his BB.

Or on the handheld itself -- open messages, then get menu - choose options then email settings. If you just want a blank signature put in a space or type in what you want be sure to save

I want/have a signature (name/title, etc). In that box you don't see "message sent from blackberry" - even if it is blank, you still get that message. This is the point, trying to remove it....that option won't work.

yes, when they say BIS they mean that really your phone is using an intermediate account (a Blackberry Internet Service) one to check your other email accounts (then passes the messages along to your phone)

that BIS service (you log in to it from a web browser, on a PC or your BB) has the setting you are trying to change.

These are the steps (please note this is from an 8100 but the menu selections should be similar)
I understand that you have a company issued Blackberry running off of a BES, not BIS.

When you are in your email folder select the menu > Options:


Now look for Email Settings:


Look for "Use Auto Signature":


You should be able to change anything that is there and add your own

based on the wording of the message being appended, I would be curious as to the accuracy of the IT depts statement of using BES... (I guess if you contacts and calendar DO sync, then they are.) you just usually see that tag line on BIS.

if its BES, and they say its "unavoidable" then that just means they have it set to add that to everyones BB. maybe they dont know where that setting lives? or maybe the company wants that to appear on everyones? (on our BES we append our legal disclaimer using that field.)

if it is indeed the BES's message appended to all outgoing, then you wont be able to change it.
