Default OEM background picture

Please Login to Remove!

This might be a weird question...but I want to create some OEM looking wallpapers. I'm thinking there has to be a jpg somewhere in the OS that is the main background picture when on the home screen (the blue cloudy one).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Once I get a source for that, I can create images on top of that so when I have a custom wallpaper, there won't be a big block missing.

The image is built into the theme. I believe there is a copy in theme builder that can be edited, but you will not be able to extract one from the device.

Great site and resource. Thanks!

However, when I download it, the middle portion of the screen is the image, the top and bottom portion is the original OEM background.

Ideas on a fix?

What theme are you using? Themes like AT&T have non transparent banners at the top and bottom. There is no way around this while using such themes

Ahhh, I see how this works now. I tried one of the BB themes and see better response, but I like the AT&T theme icons better.

Where can I find a good source of themes that are authored for the 8300? All that I have seen are not ready for the 8300. I love the iPhone ones on Crackberry.com but again, they aren't made for the 8300 (per the author and my experiment).

Theme builder was just released last week with 8300 support. I'm sure you'll start seeing some 8300 themes (there are already a few) in the media centre forum
