Default No Insurance coverage on 8300 for AT&T!!!WTF

Please Login to Remove!

I was set to get my brand new 8300 at AT&T today. We set down did all the paper work and ran my credit. No deposit plus a military discount of 19%. I told him all the data and phones services, I wanted. After that I told him, I would like to add insurance to my phone. The manager said, At&t do not cover pda's because they are so expendsive. I was like whoa. He said, I could always but a refurb unit. I was like I am not buying anything. I told him I pay 7.00 a month to sprint for coverage. I have had 2 6700's,3 Treowx's, and 2 blackberry 8703e's. All where replaced free when I showed the orginal was broken. I am ruff with phone and I know smart phones have lots of bugs. Is this true because I really want a 8300. But I cant afford to purchase 2 and 3 refurbs if mine breaks. What can I do?? I told At&t, I would be back today and let them know if I wanted to go through with the deal.

Warranty replaces the BB for a year. if you have to have it insured, add it to you homeowners' policy or buy insurance for it it separately. There is a private insurer you can purchase cheaply others have spoke of:
Asurion

You've been around here long enough to know to search for something like this!

I'm on my third Blackberry with Cingular (now AT&T). No insurance available on any of them.

AT&T/Cingular quit offering any insurance on any SmartPhones as people were taking advantage of it and it was not profitable. I can't blame them !
