Sorry about that. Now that I think about it, I bought my 2 gb micro card at Microcenter and my 4gb I got at a Nextel Store for $99. You can probably find it cheaper but I had to have it..lol And it was Sandisk.

Just got a new MicroSDHC SanDisk from Amazon.com today for $72.39 plus delivery... It grew up while I was thinking, the first price was about 71, but I was slow...) It's a little bit more expensive now but still available already for $75.45, just verified that.

8gb cards should ship to stores and be available in 1-2 weeks!

They are working in the 8310: SanDisk 8GB MicroSDHC compatibility test - SlashGear

No, it looks like they just inserted the card and checked how much space was "recognized". There is no mention of tests involving actually filling the card up with data and checking if the phone can still use all the content correctly.

Default Kingston issue - 11-21-2007, 11:23 PM

I too wanted more storage for my 8300 and bought the Kingston microSDHC 4G card from newegg.com, around $45 including two adapters. However it didn't work. :( I tried resetting the BB, format the card, no luck. Got sick of it and sent it back, will buy a Sandisk card and try again. A co-worker got a card at the same time, from Sandisk, and it worked like a charm. Just be aware, the card may not work (like most hardware, some are lemons). I read about the 6/8 and above cards. Pretty neat to have a 32G card in your BB, makes for a nice competitor to iPhone and iPods. Well maybe not. Still ways to go.

I have a Kingston microSDHC card from newegg I'm using in my 8320 right now and it works fine. I currently have it loaded with about 3.5GB of stuff and I can access all the stuff on it just fine.

I gotta admit though, it was a real PITA getting that card in the slot. The first time I did it wrong and it wouldn't read the card. The second time, I got it right and it's been working fine since.

Does anyone know if the new 4.3 OS provides support for SD cards larger than 4GB, or is it a hardware based restriction on the curve. I am about to buy a card and would prefer to buy a larger capacity one if it will be support by the new OS.

hdawg, thanks for the info and link. I guess I'll wait for the 4.3 OS release before buying a microSD card.
