Default 8300 - unable to zoom

Please Login to Remove!

Contrary to the documentation, I am unable to zoom in or out with my trackball on my 8300. Is this feature not available.

My VP has the exact same problem with his 8300. I will be watching this forum to see if someone has a answer.

Are you referring to the camera? I have no problems with zooming by moving the trackball up and down. Have you tried removing the battery to reset the phone and trying again?

I had this happen to me with my 8100 Pearl. So I pulled the battery for a hard reset and the zoom function was working.

My VP says he pulled the battery and it did not help. I will ask him to do it again, on Monday

Pulling the battery has always fixed it on the Pearl, not sure about the 8300 but I don't know why it would be any different.

This happened to me this weekend on my way to the shore. I was in Bumper to Bumper traffic, and getting yelled at by my wife because I was paying too much attention to the phone and not to the road! I took the battery off for a good 5 minutes, put it back on and I was good.

Default 8300 - unable to zoom -

Amazing! I had never paid close attention to the camera function. Only had it a couple of weeks and the trackball controls the zoom in and out. After reading these post I was just playing with it and noticed while it does zoom in and out, I feel shortchanged. The 5X zoom only give s me 1X, 3X and 5X. Nothing in between. Weird, but I guess I can live with it. Anyone else notice that?

You should see the Verizon version of that model, you can zoom OUT, but they crippled the zoom IN, intentionally.
