Default 8300 curve with BMW Bluetooth

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am currently a Nokia E series user but would like to move to a CURVE...

However, I need to be sure that the Curve will be compatible with my BMW Bluetooth carkit (BMW 50088)...

Please can anybody let me know if they have managed to pair he curve with this BMW carkit...

Thanks!

Thumbs up Yes it Works

Hi,

I switched from an E61/E50 to a Blackberry Curve. One of the reasons was the poor Bluetooth integration of Nokia. Pairing the Curve with my BMW Business CD using BMW Bluetooth connectivity works fine and the phone numbers are transferred. I am quite happy now.

I can 100% confirm that the Blackberry Curve works perfect with the BMW Bluetooth.

Thanks!

BMW South Africa tells me that BB only works with 5, 6 and 7 series but not with the Z4... any truth in that?

I have an e39 M5. Works beautifully. Address book download, quick linking. Really cool.

The Curve works with my '07 3-series, just like the 8800 does, and pairing was VERY easy.

Unhappy BMW question

Hello there -

I have an 05' BMW Ci and I have a T-Mobile BB 8700g. Once I upgraded to the newest v4.2 OS, the phone will not pair with the car at all. It's not even an address book issue.

I was thinking going to the BB 8310 or 8320 Curve and was wondering if any BMW owners had an issue pairing this BB with their car. I would hate to buy it and it didn't work. I just called BMW and they said that if the Curve does not appear on the approved list of phones, then it has not been tested so they cannot vouch for it. They suggested just buying the phone and trying it, but that is what I am trying to avoid.

Does anyone have any input?

Thanks!
Christine

My wife's 8700g never worked very well with the Bluetooth system in her MINI Cooper (not a BMW, I know, but a BMW product), but her Curve works just fine--don't know how close that system is to the mainline BMW system.

All of the newer BlackBerries, the Curves, 8800s, and the Pearls, all work with the BMW bluetooth in the 3-series and the X5 (both new and "old"). It also works in the Z4s and E39 5-series. I haven't tried it in the 7-series or 5-series since I don't have them.

Default ATT 8310 with 05 M3

I just bought a 2005 M3, with NAV and I can not get my 8310 to connect. It finds the car, I enter the code and it tries to connect for 5 to 10 seconds but than fails. My car does not have the I-Drive, I'm guessing the 2005 with NAV was the predecessor to the i-drive.

Has anyone been able to connect an 8310 to a 2005 3 series with NAV?

I've got a 07 MINI Cooper S, not actually a BMW, but electronically it is the same as a current 3 Series.

My 8310 functions perfectly with the Bluetooth in it, the address book functions and everything. I have tried it with an '07 3-Series, e46 3-Series, and an '05 5-Series, all functioned correctly. The only issue is, in my experience, you will have problems if you have groups in your address book, or you have it set to encrypt your address book with "Content Protection"
