by their nature and name (SMS = Short Message Service) text messages are limited to a certain number of characters, 160 for a number of carriers, AT&T included.

Fix? Use email.

I just experienced the same thing this morning and it wasn't beyond my carriers character limitation which is also 160.

It has happen to me before also. Sometimes if you close it out and reopen it will get the rest. Not sure why it does this.

Not everyone you're communicating with has a phone that does email or has a data plan.

Maybe the person sending the message hit "send" before they meant to. I've done that myself!
