Exclamation Blackberry messenger help with icon notices

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone tell me about the diffrent notification faces at the top of the screen on blackberry messenger on my curve?

It has a smilie face with a clock so i am guessing that means my contact is idle?

Secondly, There is also another which has a speach bubble, does this mean that my contact is talking to another person on blackberry messenger?

And thirdly there is a smilie face with sound waves coming from the mouth. What is this indicting? that they are on a call or something.

Thanks for clearing this up for me its been bugging me for a while

If it has a face with sound waves coming from it, it means the person is on the phone.

D = your message was delivered to the persons device...
R = the person has read your pin message...

Thanks for the info, so does the speach bubble mean they are talking to another contact in their contact list?

Thanks again

Clock means it's waiting to send the message.

Speech Bubble, tells you the number of unread conversations in BB Messenger you have. It acts just like the unread messages icon. Once you visit the unread conversation, the speech bubble will disappear

Not sure of it, but I think that is for when you are sending a voice note? OR it could be that they are on a call, but still connected to Blackberry Messenger. Think of it as "On the Phone" status.

Not sure if everything here is correct, but I think it is. If not, feel free to correct me.

I'm totally confused by this.

1)

A user can set their status to

- available
- unavailable
- a custom status message

Is there any dependence between the availability and and message, are they used differently.

2)

A user can have their status seen by others as, I think

- busy
- idle
- active
- ??

How does 1) relate to 2), and how does holstering affect this, if at all?!?

BBMessenger is only for BlackBerry to BlackBerry messaging. The other user must have BBMessenger as well. It communicates via PIN messages.

If your contact has a BB, get their PIN and enter it in their address book entry and add them from BB.

You must first enter their PIN number in their address book record. Once you have done this go in messenger and Options>Add a Contact (Select their name, it will only let you add names that have a PIN number stored in the PIN field of the address book.

Good Luck!
