Hi all - thanks in advance for any help.

I have an unlocked 8300 that I am using in Israel on the Orange network (all prepaid). Phone was ATT and so I believe that browser (3hop) and other settings are from them. I have registered for the Internet service with Orange. I entered the TCP settings for connecting to the Orange Internet.

However, when I go to the browser it says:

"Unable to open a PDP Context to the following APN: web-g.three.com.hk"

What does that mean? I never entered that APN anywhere. The APN I entered under TCP settings was the one orange gave me (it is simply 'internet').

My phone, SMS, etc works fine. Any ideas?

Do you have a Blackberry data plan, if not you will need one to access the web.

Nope I don't have a BlackBerry data plan. Do I have to have one? Can't I just access the web via GSM like other unlocked phones do here in Israel?

If it turns out I do need the data plan, how do I get one?

Andl, with respect to my original question, do you have any idea why it is trying to connect to an APN that I never entered into my phone?

Yes, you absolutly have to have a data plan for email, and web viewing. You get this throught your service provider.
