Default Double Synchronizing (Two PCs)?

Please Login to Remove!

If I synch my BB with my home PC, and then my work PC, will this work? I assume I will have everything on both PCs and in my Blackberry?

Any risks?

Thank-You

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Yes, that should work. The BlackBerry will kind of be like the middle man with all the updates between the two computers.

One thing ive noticed is that when u change an existing entry (address book, memo, calender etc) BB will sync it with the 1st computer u sync it with but not the other computer. I dont think BB recognizes that two different computers are being synced.

What if you make the correction on the BB..I wonder if it would be the original host and modify both pcs?

Sure you could manually modify each entry prior to reconciling (Blackberry devices don't sync, they reconcile changes) and that could work, but it would be a horrible PITA. And you won't be making the BB the "main computer" you would just merely be providing a new change to reconcile, nothing more.

BlackBerrys make poor replication hubs. Servers make the best replication hubs. Any chance that you could just "sync" the BB with your Work computer, then sync your work computer with your server (hopefully, you have Microsoft Exchange server, IBM Lotus Domino, or Novell GroupWise at work), then just sync your home computer with the server at work? You'd get updates on all machines, and that way you won't confuse your blackberry.

The best bet, is if you can get on a support version of BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) and do OTA (over the air) updates directly with the server (Microsoft Exchange server, IBM Lotus Domino, or Novell GroupWise).

I do it all the time and for the most part no problems. Yes you will end up with all three units with the same data.

If your on BES it will sync automatically to your work PC granted its tied into exchange so you would only need to install the DM (BIS) at home and sync with your home computer... personally i chose not to have personal/work mixed together
