OK, maybe I'm missing something...

I was listening to music on my new Curve and it appears that my incomming calls when right to voicemail - the phone did not ring.

Is this normal?
Am I doing someing wrong? Is there a setting for this?
Or, maybe, I was in a location with no coverage...

If you were listening to the XM radio probably since it is using a constant data stream, so calls just go str8 to voice mail. But if you are just listening to MP3's on a SD card or local storage, the phone will actually pause the song and ring, once you are done with the call it will resume playing automatically.

Thanks for your reply... it was music on the micro SD card and your description was what I would have expected... I will have to run a test in an area with a stronger signal.
