Default Q about Wi-Fi in 8300?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi BB Experts,

I am thinking to get BB 8300 or 8200 with Wi-Fi.

Can someone please confirm that its wi fi works without BB data plan.
Many PDA like HP iPAQ can be connect with Home Wireless or hot spots without any dataplan and we can check hotmail and gmail etc.

Can I do this with this new new 8300's Wi-Fi?

Thanks.

knowing how RIM conduct business, most likely it wont. No BB data plan(RIMS bread and butter) no goodies for you.

This is just my .02

The nature of wifi is to be able to access the Internet without a data plan. This allows you to connect to your home wifi or at "hot spots" without using your data plan. The fact that BB has not had wifi on their devices has been a major point of contention with users. It is highly unlikely that BB would add wifi and then charge to use it.
